Digitalisierung für Kliniken und Krankenhäuser
Communication 4.0 in clinics and hospitals
Dies können u.a.

For wayfinding at main entrances at least one, better two displays in portrait and landscape format are suitable. The enclosures are classified as outdoor enclosures, as they have to be cleaned with special cleaning agents. Presented there is a target catalog of 30 – 50 terms, which can be selected by touch. In charge of this application is our partner Catchup Applications KG. All that is needed to trigger the content is a touch of the target term with the finger. On the digital floor plan of the building, the route from the location of the wayfinding system to the end point is displayed interactively. In an additional organizational chart, the hospital’s senior staff and other information can be displayed. This content is provided and can be fed from the hospital’s databases via HTML interfaces, among other things.

Digital patient call in the hospital
In the waiting areas, screens display important information such as messages and the digital patient call, among other things. The enclosures are also classified as outdoor enclosures. The display makes use of several interfaces. CMS-internally, the interface to local news is implemented as a news ticker via RSS. But local weather data is also available via API. Together with UKSH and AGFA Healthcare, the patient call from the HIS Orbis was implemented.
The content is fed to the screens in the various waiting areas. High operational reliability is guaranteed by a redundant setup and the building blocks Crestron NVX-Director and Fusion. Our CMS on the Windows 10 OS generates its own virtual desktop. Windows update messages or other pop-ups are prevented by 99.9%.

Digital signage in the hospital
Digital signage in the hospital. This includes information for patients and visitors, an event calendar, a digital cab call, the integration of bus stop departure times or other connections at highly visible locations in the building. All these things are managed centrally via our CMS system. Here, the connection to weather data as well as the current date and time takes place. An event calendar and live departure times from Kieler Verkehrsgesellschaft and Stadtverkehr Lübeck GmbH are integrated in the form of HTML interfaces. The design provides for two portrait touch displays. The housings are adapted to the requirements and designed for outdoor use. Other sizes and housing designs can be freely determined.

Digital fundraising in the hospital
What does Fundraising 4.0 look like? We answer this on the basis of the joint development with the UKSH fundraising staff unit and the two non-profit organizations – the UKSH Friends and Sponsors Association Knowledge Creates Health e.V. as well as the Support Foundation of the UKSH.
Thanks to our CMS system, fundraising information is also regularly displayed on patient call monitors, among other things. Thus, several thousand impressions are generated per day. The picture shows an outdoor case with video wall and touch displays. The touch application is also maintained in the CMS. A donation box and brochure holders are also integrated. Donations can also be made digitally via bank card or smartphone.

Digital fundraising in the hospital
How do you adequately present major donors and curators? How do you digitize the classic „honor roll“? Together with the fundraising department of the UKSH, we developed and built a digital mirror measuring almost 3 x 3 meters. Six ultra-bright video wall monitors sit behind the so-called mirror glass and illuminate the glass pane with 5,500 nits. Our CMS system manages this video wall and enables very high-quality presentations. If the wall shows the curators‘ corporate logos in the color white, they shine through the mirror surface. The black areas of the video wall are dark. The result is free-floating thank-you notes, news or weather information on a large digital mirror. Appointments with donors are usually held in front of the glass wall. The glass wall then shows time-controlled appropriate content. In addition, live TV is integrated for all visitors and shows daily news as well as soccer and sports.

State-of-the-art conference and training rooms at the hospital
Networking capability is the keyword. The conference rooms in the new buildings of UKSH Kiel and Lübeck demonstrate the latest state of the art here. Equipped with digital whiteboards and Crestron lecterns, the conference rooms have a high level of connectivity. Documents can be edited and shared via the whiteboards. In addition, selected conference rooms have Crestron interfaces with each other across both Kiel and Lübeck locations. This enables distortion- and jerk-free video streaming. Live streams from the operating room, for example, can also be shared among the conference and training rooms.
In addition, the fundraising glass walls and the children’s play corners in Kiel and Lübeck have the direct streaming function. Christmas addresses by the board of directors or non-contact speeches can be streamed from the conference rooms directly into the hospital magistrals.

Interactive children’s play corners in the hospital
Exercise for children is the be-all and end-all. Especially in the waiting times before an examination, a little variety is very fitting. For this reason, we developed the interactive Kids Gaming Center. Two very special LED video walls are used here. The video walls are sealed. The floor video wall can be swept and damp cleaned. Two monitors in the gaming center show the digital patient call and a game control. The details are hidden behind padded side panels and foam parts. Stainless steel buttons from the elevator construction enable control of the child-friendly games. Also integrated is a children’s cinema, which is switched daily at fixed times via Crestron technology.
